Matty is growing up (sniff, sniff)

That's right. He's practically driving a car. This past week he grew by leaps and bounds! He started out with popping a tooth through (that's what those late nights/middle of the nights/early mornings were all about!). I don't have a picture to publish but the tooth is, in fact, a sad and sharp reality. Not that I don't want him to get teeth--not at all! Just waiting until we were closer to being done with the whole nursing thing would be nice!

His next major achievement of the week was learning to sit by himself. That's pretty fun! He is quite pleased with his new view of the world. He's not quite steady yet, but he's getting there. Hannah has instituted sitting lessons for him, which is reminiscent of Josiah's walking lessons for Luke. These lessons involved Luke sitting on the floor and Josiah running in circles around him. Surely, Josiah thought, this would help Luke to walk sooner. Perhaps he and Hannah are right, and this type of lesson is helpful!

The final achievement of the week was drinking from a bottle. Now don't assume that this was directly related to his first achievement of the week--the tooth. I had planned this for a while since he's having pablum now, the leap to a bottle of milk is not so difficult. Josiah, the self-appointed favourite brother of Matthew, was thrilled to feed him his first bottle. Josiah calls Matthew "Matty-Matty munchkin, little-little scrunchkin!" Which, though quite a mouthful and rather nonsensical has a sweet and catchy ring to it!
