Ahoy Mateys, Happy Pirate Birthday!

Today was Josiah's Birthday party, and he decided on a Pirate theme. We started out with a Pirate Treasure Hunt. The kids were given the first picture clue and had to find the next clue by finding the place pictured in the first clue. Picture clues were hidden in the microwave, the couch, the bathtub and other places. This game had the kids racing all through the house to find the treasure. Great fun!
The treasure was found in the dryer, and was a great stash--swords and shields for the boys (pirate-like!) and fairy wands for the girls (damsel-in-distress-like) and, of course, chocolate coins to go with the pirate treasure theme!


The next game was Musical rowboat, and the ones who didn't find a seat in the boat rode a shark (candy) to the desert island (the couch!) We also played pin the flag on the pirate ship and pirate divers (just a big-dive-for-candy fun-fest).

Our cake was an incredible pirate ship, complete with cannons and cannon-balls, made by our dear friend Sarah. Thanks Sarah!
